Did you know that there are 56
countries in Africa? That’s a lot! I’m
so excited that you have come to visit
me in Tanzania and learn more about
my language. It’s called Rangi.
Sometimes languages have more than
one name. And my language is one of
them! Some people call my language
“Langi,” but people who speak Swahili
call it “Rangi.”
We don’t have a printed Bible yet,
but translation is happening! And
every time I hear new verses read in
Rangi, it makes my heart very happy.
I cannot wait until we can have the
whole New Testament. That will be a
lot of verses to read!

Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania was once an
active volcano. It is the highest point in Africa.
It’s also near three of the largest lakes in Africa:
Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Nyasa.
Wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, elephants, rhinos,
lions, and leopards all live in Tanzania.
There are some big national parks in Tanzania!
The Gombe Stream National Park is home to
many chimpanzees. It is where Jane Goodall—a
scientist—did 45 years of research on chimps in
their natural habitat. The Serengeti National Park
is the oldest and most popular park for tourists to
visit. There are over 1.7 million wildebeest that
live there, as well as about a million other animals!
